REMITTANCES BY RESIDENTS
When a resident wants to remit funds towards purchase a foreign security, towards education abroad, employment abroad, Immigration, maintenance of close relatives, medical treatment abroad, donation, gift etc, he may choose any of the following options:
- Liberalised Remittance Scheme
- Small Value Remittances
- USD 100,000 Scheme
The resident will have to follow certain procedures, give declarations to do the remittances.

REMITTANCES BY NRIs ( NON-RESIDENTS )
When a NRI / PIO wants to remit funds which are repatriation of the funds invested earlier eligible for repatriation, his incomes which are already subjected to tax, sale proceeds of assets acquired by self or received as gift, inheritance etc., he can do so under any of the following options:
- Remittances from NRE accounts
- USD 1,000,000 Scheme
- Remittances of income post tax
The NRI / PIO will have to follow certain procedures, give declarations to do the remittances.
